Where Seahawks will pick in 2025 NFL Draft and possible candidates

Could Seattle go quarterback first?

The Seattle Seahawks are done with their season, and the only thing left to look forward to is the offseason. That could mean big changes on the roster as the team will have to make cap space somewhere. Maybe Seattle will save some money and release quarterback Geno Smith. Anything is possible.

Still, the team was not so bad that they did not come close to a playoff spot. Seattle was 10-7 and even one more win would have gotten them to the postseason. That is all just a pipe dream now.

But with the NFL regular season done, many teams (the non-playoff ones) know where they will choose in the 2025 NFL draft. Because Seattle went 10-7, they kind of hurt their draft standing. A loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18 would not have changed things much, however.

Seattle Seahawks' first-round 2025 NFL draft position and potential candidates to choose

Seattle is slated to pick 18th overall in this year's draft. That probably means they miss out on one of the top quarterbacks.

Clearly, there are months to go before the NFL draft, and things will change. Players will rise or fall based on individual workouts. What we do know is that the Seahawks will need help along the offensive line. Still expecting general manager John Schneider to choose a center or guard in the first round would be foolish.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe - Alabama

There are not many quarterbacks worth taking in the first round in 2025. The two that are might be Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders. Both are likely to be gone before Seattle's first choice, so if Schneider really wants a quarterback, he could go with the athletic but inconsistent Milroe.

Offensive tackle Wyatt Milum - West Virginia

Milum is 6'6" and 317 pounds with good athletic ability. That means he is more of a tackle than a guard, and the Seahawks need a guard more. Still, right tackle Abe Lucas has just a year left on his contract and his health is always in question. Milum could sit for a year and then take over in 2026.

Offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery - Minnesota

Ersery is a little heavier than Milum at 330 pounds so he could potentially transition to guard in the NFL. He played left tackle with the Gophers, so maybe he has a chance to replace left guard Laken Tomlinson. He would be a risk due to his habit of standing straight up, but maybe he can be coached to pass-protect better at the next level if he is a guard.

Interior offensive lineman Jonah Savainaea - Arizona

Savainaea is not extremely athletic, but he is huge and strong at 6'5" and 330 pounds. He knows how to get a push on the inside and has a good football IQ that will help him rise up the depth chart as a rookie. Still, thinking Schneider will choose a guard in the first round is a laugh.
