Who are the announcers and referees for Seahawks vs. 49ers on TNF today?
By Lee Vowell
The Seattle Seahawks need a victory. So do the San Francisco 49ers. Seattle has lost two straight games, while San Francisco has lost three of four. While Seattle currently leads the NFC West by one game, San Francisco would take the lead in the division, at least temporarily, with a victory over the Seahawks.
Both teams are struggling with injuries. Seattle will be without edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu and defensive tackle Byron Murphy II, among others, and both are decent against the run. Seattle has struggled in that department overall this year, and the 49ers run the ball well. San Francisco could turn this into a short game where they dominate time of possession.
Ultimately, this game will be a huge test for head coach Mike Macdonald. There have been rumblings that some players are losing confidence during games. If Macdonald cannot turn that around fast, the season could go from 3-0 to a six-win year.
Seahawks vs. 49ers announcers for Week 6 on Thursday Night Football
As always, Amazon Prime will carry the Thursday Night Football game. The good part is you can watch the game on any streaming device. The bad part is, at least nationally, you will need an Amazon Prime subscription to see the action. If you live in Seattle or San Francisco, you can watch on your local FOX station. Those stations are FOX 13 in Seattle and FOX 2 in San Francisco.
The announcers for the game will be Al Michaels (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (analyst), and Kaylee Hartung (sideline reporter). Michaels is an all-time great at calling games, of course. Herbstreit and Hartung are pretty good at their jobs as well.
Seahawks fans might want to tune in for the pre-game show. This will feature former Seahawks (and, OK...49ers) cornerback Richard Sherman and he is almost always good for a quip. Charissa Thompson, Tony Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Andrew Whitworth will also be on the show.
Seahawks vs. 49ers head referee for Week 6
Craig Wrolstad will be the head official for the Seahawks and 49ers. Wrolstad has been in the league for a long, long time (since 2003) and is generally considered one of the best officials in the game. He began as a field judge and then became a referee in 2014.
Wrolstad had worked one Super Bowl and one Pro Bowl. He has called many playoff games. In other words, the officiating should be better in Week 6 for the Seahawks than it was in Week 4 and Week 5.
