Who are the announcers and referees for Seahawks vs. Rams in Week 9?
By Lee Vowell
The Seattle Seahawks will host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9 at Lumen Field. The odd part is that Seattle will only have three more home games the rest of the season after Week 9. Six of Seattle's first nine games have been held at home.
Not that home-field advantage has helped very much. Seattle is 2-3 at home and has not won at Lumen Field since Week 3. In Week 8, the Seahawks were trounced by the Buffalo Bills in Seattle. Since 2017, Seattle is 3-5 at home against Los Angeles.
If all that sounds negative, it is also true. Just as much as Seattle won't have wide receiver DK Metcalf in Week 9 either. He is dealing with a knee injury. There is some positive news, though. Both the head official for the game and the broadcast crew have both worked Seattle victories recently, so maybe they will bring some good vibes with them.
Seahawks vs. Rams announcers for Week 9
FOX will carry the Seattle and LA game. That is channel 13 in the Seattle area and channel 11 for those 12s who live in the Los Angeles area. This won't be FOX's featured game of the week (that will be the Detroit Lions versus the Green Bay Packers), but the broadcast crew is still a very good one. In fact, maybe they are a lucky one for the Seahawks.
The announcers will be Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Jonathan Vilma (analysis), and Megan Olivi (sideline reporter). This is the same crew who announced Seattle's Week 7 dominance of the Atlanta Falcons.
Seahawks vs. Rams head referee for Week 9
The head referee for Seattle versus Los Angeles will be Clay Martin. He began in the NFL as an umpire in 2015 but became a referee in 2018. He has not yet called a Super Bowl, but has officiated in the playoffs so he is a respected member of his profession.
His crew consists of James Carter, Jerrod Phillips, Brian Perry, Alonzo Ramsey, Dave Hawkshaw, Greg Wilson, Brian Matoren, and Bryant Thompson. The last time Martin called a Seahawks game was last year when Seattle defeated the Philadelphia Eagles. Maybe Martin is a bit of good luck too.
