Brandon Browner tweeted that he was reinstated by the NFL on Tuesday afternoon:

Here is the full statement:

"I received wonderful news today. The NFL has reinstated me, and I now have the opportunity to prove to the fans and my teammates how important this sport is to me. I realize now more than ever that being part of the NFL is not a right, but a privilege. I am grateful that Commissioner Goodell and my agent were able to resolve this issue in a positive, productive manner so I can continue my career, provide for my family, and help my team win a Super Bowl. Thank you to all who have gone out of their way to show their support. I will live up to your expectations of me."

Browner was reportedly preparing to sue the NFL this week to challenge the league’s punishment for its substance-abuse policy.

Browner’s contract with the Seahawks ended after the 2013 season so he is now an unrestricted free agent. Regardless of his off-field problems, he is still a very talented corner.

Many teams that need help in their secondary could reach out to Browner, but it is unclear if he will still be expected to serve a brief suspension during the 2014 season.

Previously, Browner was to be banned from all football activities until December 2014.
