Christine Michael is known for his explosiveness on the field, but over the weekend, he got to show off his dance moves at a high school prom.

Michael went with Taylor Kirkwood, an autistic Homecoming Queen at Anahuac High School in Anahuac, Texas.

Kirkwood, 18, asked Michael last month if he would attend her senior prom and he accepted. Michael actually went to high school with a cousin of Kirkwood’s mother, and he has been a friend of the family since then.

“I’m just here for Taylor, it’s a blessing being a part of it.,” Michael said in an interview with CNN. “She’s a beautiful kid, I’m very proud of her.”

Life hasn’t always been easy for Kirkwood, who also suffered from scoliosis until a surgery a few years ago. But she has maintained a positive attitude through it all and had a night to remember at her senior prom.

“She can be a little bit shy,” Stacie Holmes, her mother, told KPRC-TV last month. “She’s a bundle of fun and she just enjoys life.”

Michael only played in four games last season, his rookie year, and had 79 rushing yards. He will be looking to improve on that in 2014.
