Priority Free Agents Re-signed to Roster

  • Lemuel Jeanpierre – Re-Signed with Seahawks

Jeanpierre is the only piece Seattle decided to retain of the three on the potential market, but he is a fairly important piece. Max Unger has struggled mightily with periodic injuries since he began his NFL journey and the Seahawks really wouldn’t have stemmed the tide without the reliability Jeanpierre has provided. A great veteran piece for Seattle to keep in play and he can move to guard if need be.

  • OL Stephen Schilling – Signed with Seahawks from San Diego Chargers

Schilling is a guy not many people know about, but he has a chance to prove he can be something here. This kid was a Parade All-American at nearby Bellevue High before heading to Michigan. All he did there was start 49 straight games, receive 2nd team freshman and two Big Ten honorable mentions. However it hasn’t transferred to the NFL level, he’s only started four games and has spent most of his time on the Chargers’ practice squad. Unfortunately this reminds me too much of the move the Hawks made for Charlie Whitehurst a few years back. Hopefully it’s not the same outcome.
