Dez Bryant, Doug Baldwin Similarity? Inspired Passion, Misguided Rage

Well, Meep died on American Horror Story. Sad. On The Walking Dead, the gang is back together and ready to fight another day! Sorry, but that was an epic season premiere. I can’t help but think it would’ve been even better if our Hawks had won.

More from Seattle Seahawks News

Ouch! Seattle Seahawks players haven’t seen a performance like that in a while. The noisy 12s sat quiet as the comeback we all expected never arrived. Watching the film on Monday may have been difficult, but we can be sure it was educational. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of the players were unable to recognize their own team. It was simply a bad day.

After a game so poorly played, players have a tendency to overreact. Dez Bryant had a complete meltdown last year at the end of a game. He became a child who just lost a game of Call of Duty: Ghosts. His tantrum was not well received. Even worse for Dez, his teammates made it clear that they were growing tired of the act.

In another example of misguided anger, Seattle receiver Doug Baldwin threw his Huggies all over the field Sunday. On national television he’s seen being very animated toward Russell Wilson. Then Baldwin used a post game interview as a coast to coast soap box. The screwdriver Dallas shoved in the Seahawks pride did not need to be twisted further.

Both Bryant and Baldwin made a significant error with their behavior. They believed their team and the fans cared about what they had to say. Dez Bryant is not a leader in the Dallas locker room. Doug Baldwin isn’t the go to guy when searching for answers about Seattle. Tony Romo and Russell Wilson have it covered.

Anger, frustration, embarrassment. These feelings are sure to exist after such a loss. But for leaders like Russell Wilson, being able to step away from emotions in order to keep the team focused is key. Anger about the team and its performance should be saved for when the locker room doors are shut. Period.

Doug Baldwin loves the Seahawks and their dedicated fans. His reaction was because of that type of devotion and dedication. And really, what he had to say would’ve been great if he had listened to Jevon Kearse and just relaxed prior to answering questions. We can be sure that coach Carroll has had a conversation with his talented receiver. Russell Wilson has as well.

Let’s all look forward to St. Louis and a win to right the ship.

GO HAWKS!
