Our Week 16 NFL Power Rankings are out and the Seattle Seahawks continue to escalate quickly up the ladder as they defeat quality opponents and teams ahead of them lose.

For the first time since Jim Harbaugh took over as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, his team has lost both regular season meetings against the Seattle Seahawks. With the 17-7 win the Seahawks not only eliminated their NFC West rivals from playoff contention but also set themselves up for the division title if they win their Week 16 matchup against the 11-3 Arizona Cardinals.

The Green Bay Packers fell out of the top three in our NFL Power Rankings with their road loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers had his worst outing as an NFL quarterback and the loss allowed Seattle an opportunity to claim the NFC’s #1 seed in the playoffs if it wins the final two games of the regular season.

It looks like former University of Washington quarterback Jake Locker could be out of chances to start at QB in the NFL. He’ll probably catch on somewhere as a backup. I think even Husky fans thought he was drafted way too high with the 8th overall pick in 2011.. (2-12). Previous: 27th. Tennessee Titans. 32. team. 35

Sadly, it’s very possible that one of the Seahawks’ coordinators could replace Gus Bradley, their former defensive coordinator for the head coaching job in Jacksonville after the season.. (2-12). Previous: 31st. Jacksonville Jaguars. 31. team. 52

Previous: 30th. New York Jets. 30. team. 30. Rex Ryan is as good as gone immediately after the season ends. If not, it’ll be a huge surprise. I doubt he gets another chance to be a head coach after his debacle with the Jets.. (3-11)

The Bucs don’t have an NFL caliber starting QB and running back Doug Martin was a huge bust this season. Without a top defense, that’s a recipe for disaster.. (2-12). Previous: 28th. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 29. team. 48
