Seahawks Injury Report – Week 4 DET v SEA

The Seattle Seahawks injury report for week 4 started out quite worrisome on Thursday with 6 players that didn’t practice. Now after Friday’s practice, things don’t look much better.

Running back Marshawn Lynch did not practice on Thursday or Friday due to a hamstring injury. Lynch regularly takes a Wednesdays off, but since the Seahawks are playing Monday night, this week his normal day off would have been Thursday. However with Lynch being pulled out of last Sunday’s game against the Bears, the fact he didn’t practice is cause for major concern.

Head coach Pete Carroll said earlier in the week that Lynch was 50/50 to play Monday, but those odds seem to be getting worse not better.

Five other players didn’t practice Thursday or Friday. Most notable, other than Lynch, was defensive tackle Brandon Mebane. Mebane left last Sunday’s game against Chicago with a groin injury. We should know more about the extent of the injury tomorrow. It seems unlikely that he will play this week.

Corner back Tharold Simon and free safety Steven Terrell are, once again, on the week 4 list. Simon, injured since the second week of the season, is taking longer than expected to recover from a toe injury. This is Terrell’s second week with a hip injury.

Demarcus Dobbs, defensive end, is back on the list, this time with a shoulder injury. Dobbs was listed for one day during week 2 with back problems but didn’t miss any games.

New to the injury report is linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis. Louis hasn’t practiced yet this week, listed with a hamstring.

Last week’s surprise scratch from the game was tight end Luke Willson. After practicing all last week, he didn’t play due to a back injury. Carroll said if he had been needed, he could have played, but they felt it was a good week to rest him. He is expected to be able to go this week.

The rest of the list seems to be minor issues. Linebackers K.J. Wright, Mike Morgan, and Bobby Wagner all were listed with hip, hamstring, and ankle issues, respectively, but were full practice.

As mentioned before, since the game is on Monday this week, everything is pushed back. We will have to see how things shake out after tomorrow to know if any of these injuries end up keeping players off the field.
