Center backs are relied on heavily day in and day out by the coaches.
They must have great stamina, for they rarely get subbed out; as well as the ability to be an impenetrable wall and potential last line of defense. If you are going to score a goal, it will usually be because you beat one or both of the center backs.
Both Wagner and Chancellor possess they attributes, Wagner with his smarts, his ability to read the field and see where the ball will arrive before it gets there.
Chancellor for his authority and hard-hitting ability; he almost never loses on a 50-50 ball and instills fear into the attackers as to let know that if they try to take him on, they will lose.
