Maxwell sat out the loss to the St. Louis Rams after suffering a calf injury against the Dallas Cowboys. Simon started in his place and left in the second quarter after spraining an ankle. He did not return.
There’s a chance that both could return this week for the Seahawks’ road matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Seahawks nickel corner Jeremy Lane could also begin practicing this week and he could return as soon as two weeks from now, according to Pete Carroll. Lane was placed on injured reserve with the designation to return on September 8th.
Max is working at it. He’s doing stuff this week. We’ll see what happens as the week goes on. – Carroll
Pro Bowl C Max Unger may also return for the Panthers but it’s still uncertain. Former Bellevue High School star Stephen Schilling has been starting in Unger’s place the past two weeks.
TE Cooper Helfet started against the Rams with both Luke Willson and Zach Miller out and caught his first career NFL touchdown. Willson, who sprained his groin during practice the Wednesday before the game could have gone but was given extra time to recover.
Zach is still in the boot right now, so he’s not that close yet. But we expect him to make a big jump once he gets to the next level of his rehab. – Carroll
Miller, who had ankle surgery to remove bone spurs is still in a walking boot and his timeframe to return isn’t clear.
Fullback Derrick Coleman broke a bone in his foot during pregame warmups and will be out at least a month, with six weeks being a more reasonable expectation. RB Robert Turbin filled in for Coleman.
And then there was this from former Seahawks FB Michael Robinson!
