By Keith Myers
The first official day of free agency was a crazy day will of all sorts of unexpected deals and trades. The Seattle Seahawks were among the busiest teams in the NFL, and they added significant talent to their roster.

Here is an update on most of the free agency events that matter to the Seahawks since I posted yesterday’s roundup:
- The Seahawks traded for someone named Jimmy Graham. You might have heard of him before. (Who’s Jimmy?)
- To get the 2nd best TE in the NFL, the Seahawks gave up center Max Unger and their first-round pick. They also got a fourth round pick in return
- John Clayton said that the Seahawks were planning on cutting Unger anyways for salary-cap reasons.
- The Seahawks are now down 2 starters on the offensive line. They have some work to do there.
- The Seahawks signed cornerback Cary Williams. The CB position is now set headed into the draft. On to other needs for the Seahawks.
- Williams’ contract is 3 years and $18 mil in name only. 3rd year value makes it look much larger than it is. He either turns himself into Richard Sherman part 2, or he never sees half of that money.
- James Carpenter was signed by the Jets. The Seahawks now officially need a new left guard. They needed one anyways, but now it’s official.
- Wide receiver is now Seattle’s biggest need, and an already thin free agent market is drying up fast.
- Andre Johnson appears to be headed to Indy. Seattle was interested, but he and Gore wanted to play on the same team. Gore’s deal in Indy is done, and Johnson’s could be soon.
- If Johnson doesn’t sign with Indy tonight, he’ll travel to Seattle. If he get into town, Seattle shouldn’t let him leave.
- Dwayne Bowe will be released tomorrow. I expect Seattle to kick the tires on him and see if he has anything left.
- It turns out that the early reports Richardo Lockette were incorrect. He is returning to Seattle next season. Lockette was an exclusive rights free agent.
- The Seahawks have been linked to guard Shelley Smith, who spent last season in Miami. Smith is a journeyman who has the athletic traits the Seahawks like. He is the type of player Seattle like to add for roster depth whenever they can.
Next: What number will Jimmy Graham wear?
