The 10 worst deals in 2015 NFL Free Agency

6. Dan Skuta, Jacksonville Jaguars
Contract: 5 years, $20.5 million
The Julius Thomas contract is pretty bad, but Jacksonville really messed up giving Skuta $20.5 million. They have cap space that must be used or else they’ll be in violation of league rules, but there have to be better places to spend it.
Skuta is a career backup who finally got a chance to play over the last two seasons with the 49ers because of Aldon Smith’s suspensions. While he was mildly competent in 2014, he had zero sacks in eight starts in 2013. He simple isn’t ever going to justify that contract.
5. Da’Norris Searcy, Tennessee Titans
Contract: 4 years, $22.75 million
The Titans have money they cannot seem to give away. Forget worrying about trying to use up salary cap space. Guys who are tied to the Titans in free agency are just retiring.
To try and end that pattern, they threw crazy money at a slightly above average safety. Searcy isn’t a bad player, but his contract is huge for what he is.
Plus, guaranteeing nearly 50% of the value of the contract is something that should be reserved for the league’s best players. That doesn’t apply here.
