2. Justin Forsett, Baltimore Ravens
Contract: 3 years, $9 million
Forsett is coming off a career year in Baltimore, and he showed that he could be a featured back in the NFL. The Ravens brought him back, and got him for a fraction of what other teams are paying their top backs next season.
Forsett is getting up there in age, but that might not be an issue. He has had to fight for playing time at every stop on his career even though he has always been productive. Because of his lack of playing time, he hasn’t seen the wear and tear that most backs have seen by his age.
1. Terrance Knight0n, Washington
Contract: 1 year, $4 million
Washington is having a very un-Washington kind of offseason. Instead of throwing massive money at older players, they’ve wisely waited out the market and looked for value.
Knighton was the best defensive tackle on the market this season, but found a limited market because of concerns about his weight. Instead of signing for significantly less than he felt he deserved, Knighton decided to bet on himself.
If he plays well in Washington this season and keeps his weight down, Knighton will be back on he market next spring and ready to cash in on a massive contract.
