Barring any trades, Seattle will have a total of eleven selections come April 30th, when the 2015 NFL draft will be held in Chicago. The additional picks that the NFL awarded the Seahawks include the 134th pick (4th rd), 170th pick (5th rd), 209th pick (6th rd), and 214th pick (6th rd).
The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs join the Seahawks as teams awarded four additional selections by the league.
Seattle Seahawks’ 2015 NFL Draft Picks:
Round Pick
2 63
3 95
4 112, 130, 134*
5 167, 170*
6 180, 209*, 214*
7 248
* Cannot be traded
Seattle was awarded the maximum of four selections after losing Brandon Browner, Breno Giacomini, Chris Maragos*, Clinton McDonald, Paul McQuistan*, Golden Tate, and Walter Thurmond*.
* Were not awarded picks because the maximum of four had already been given.
Seattle will be without a first round pick yet again. General manager John Schneider traded the 31st overall selection to the New Orleans Saints along with Pro Bowl center Max Unger. In return, the Seahawks gained a fourth round pick along with Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham.
The trade filled one need, but created another on the offensive line. Seattle is expected to fill the hole in one of three ways. Patrick Lewis is currently on the roster and had filled in admirably for Unger when he missed much of the season due to injury.
The second option is to sign former Oakland Raiders center Stefen Wisniewski, who visited Seattle and met with the team last week.
Lastly, with eleven picks, the Seahawks could very well fill their need for a starter and depth on the o-line through the draft.
