2015 NFL Draft quarterback rankings (final)

facebooktwitterreddit

The countdown to the NFL Draft continues, and we are now only eight days away. That is an awfully short deadline for me to get my positional rankings done for all the players I’ve scouted. With that in mind, here are my2015 NFL draft quarterback rankings and a few notes about the prospects.

My thoughts on Winston should be well known by now. He isn’t the can’t-miss prospect that the media wants you to believe he is. That is even before you factor in the off-field issues. He is still very good, and worthy of a first round pick, but there is a lot of risk involved in that selection.

More interesting to me are the second tier quarterbacks. Brett Hundley is a physical specimen and an extremely charismatic guy. Unfortunately, his tape is awful. He’s going to wow someone on a visit and they’re going to take him way too early than his tape indicates.

I really don’t get the Bryce Petty hype. He’s a tall statue of a quarterback doesn’t have as many tools as the media wants you to believe. There’s a chance he’s this season’s Derek Carr. There is also a chance he’s simply another Ryan Lindley.

The quarterback that interests me the most from this group is Colorado State’s Garrett Grayson. He doesn’t have the high ceiling of of some of the other prospects, but he also has a high floor. He could very easily be a slightly better version of Andy Dalton.

A few notes:

  • I only rank players that I’ve completed my eval for. There are a lot more player that are draft edible than this. I’ve seen quite a few of them, but I haven’t scouted enough of their games to include them here.
  • These rankings are my own, and not necessarily in agreement with the other writers on this site.
  • The Seahawks are not in the market for a quarterback, so these rankings for not scheme specific in any way.
