Pick 170: Tye Smith, CB, Towson
With pick 170, the Seahawks selected cornerback Tye Smith out of Towson. He is a small school guy that everyone has ignored because of where he played, but he has a chance to be a good player.
Smith is a very athletic kid with long arms, but at 6’0″ tall he’s shorter than we are used to seeing in Seattle cornerbacks. He projects as a guy who can play inside in the slot as well as outside.
One thing that stands out with Smith is that he’s a good tackler. He’s very physical player who isn’t afraid to come up and make plays against running backs. He’ll fit right in with Seattle’s Legion of Boom.
