Seattle Seahawks draft profiles: Every 2015 UDFA
By Keith Myers
Quayshawn Nealy, LB, Georgia Tech
Nealy is an atypical signing for Seattle, but an interesting one. He doesn’t fit the athletic profile of a guy that’ll make the Seahawks roster, but he does match one of its new coaches.
He is a smart, instinctual, and gritty player. Nealy is a guy who knows the mental part of the game, and uses it to make up for his lack of physical skills. If that description sounds family, it is because it also describes former Seattle linebacker Lofa Tutupu.
Tutupu, of course, joined Seattle’s coaching staff a little over a month ago as an assistant linebackers coach. It is probably coincidental that the Seahawks signed a guy that compares so closely to their new coach, but it is still fun to think about.
Nealy’s chances at the final roster are slim, but do not be surprised when he lands on the practice squad after training camp.
