Austin Hill and Ross Apo

The Seahawks signed a pair of very similar wide receivers in Arizona’s Austin Hill and BYU’s Ross Apo. Both are fairly tall. Hill is 6’2″ and Apo is 6’3.” Both are also good overall athletes.

Both also have uninspiring hands, which is why they were available here.

Apo has good acceleration and decent overall speed. What he doesn’t do well is change direction quickly. He is a straight line athlete that will remind Seahawks fans of Richardo Lockette.

Hill is a bit of the opposite. He doesn’t have great speed and will likely never get behind the defense. He has great agility and change of direction skills. He’ll win early in his routes with his quickness and be able to reliably create separation.

Of course, both have to prove they can catch the ball if they are going to make Seattle’s roster next season.

Edit: Turns out Apo was signed. Instead, he was invited to the rookie minicamp as a tryout. If they choose to sign him, someone will have to be cut.
