Frank Clark Releasing a Statement to the 12s is a Nice First Step
Before I begin writing about Frank Clark’s statement to the city of Seattle and our fan base, I have a statement for Seattle’s new DL:

Thanks for allowing me to vent.
Seattle made some noise by selecting Frank Clark with their first pick of the draft. Some draft analysts predicted Clark would be passed over and go undrafted. I’m sorry offended 12s, but this guy is a defensive freak. Check out his performance at the NFL Combine on YouTube. This a rare talent.
On a personal level Frank Clark has the ability to accept and understand the fan’s frustration. His solution? Write the city of Seattle and Seahawks fans everywhere a letter:
“I’m honored to be a part of the Seattle Seahawks organization, and I want to thank coach Carroll and Mr. Schneider for believing in me enough to make me the team’s first pick. I loved Coach Carroll as a kid growing up in L.A., and I look forward to giving the 12th Man more reasons to raise ruckus in the near future. I’m a West Coast kid at heart and I’m eager to make Seattle, and the great Northwest, my home.”
Not too bad, huh?
OK a few things to ponder:
- Your Seahawks have a crew on defense that can help Frank transition
- There is no chance Pete Carroll and John Schneider would bring Clark in if there was any doubt about him
- His statement should be thought of as an attempt to begin a new chapter in Seattle
- Accepting Clark will be much easier after he sacks Nick Foles and Aaron Rodgers
- The Seahawks organization has earned the right to ask 12s for confidence in their decisions
The fact remains we are not able to change people without their consent. I believe him about his excitement towards the city of Seattle, the Clink and playing for Pete Carroll. I feel good about his desire to earn your respect.
We’ll never know if he will earn our loyalty and approval unless we move forward and give him a chance.
Go Hawks!
