The offensive line was much improved

After the disaster last week, the Seahawks ran out a new look offensive line this time around. Justin Britt slid inside to LG, Gary Gilliam was at RT, and Drew Nowak took over at center.

To say the difference was noticeable would be a massive understatement. Russell Wilson wasn’t sacked. He was only hurried a few times, and was able to play almost the entire 1st half from the pocket.

The run blocking certainly wasn’t where it needs to be though. There were few holes for the backs to work with, and that was the primary cause for Seattle’s lack of scoring.

Gilliam in particular isn’t much of a run blocker. He doesn’t get much push upfront at all. He will be an interesting test case for Tom Cable. Is pass blocking important enough for him to have someone at RT that isn’t a road grader?
