This will probably be one of the Things To Watch For every single game. The rookie has proven to be that type of player both in college and in the preseason. We’ve already seen him run back a punt and a kickoff back for touchdowns, but we’ve yet to see him featured in the offense. Don’t worry, he will be. Bevell says Lockett is “light years” ahead of where they thought he’d be as a rookie WR and that he will at times be featured in the offense.
Watch out.
A lot of people were concerned when the schedule came out, seeing this game right out of the gate. But when you look at the matchups one by one, it looks like an extremely difficult task for the Rams. Seeing them in week #1, well before that offensive line has settled in and superstar-in-waiting RB Todd Gurley is fully healthy, may just be the perfect scenario.
