Lynch is better when Wilson keeps the ball

Russell Wilson ran for 78 yards tonight. Most of those game in the 2nd half when he stopped being afraid to keep the ball on those read-option plays.

Not only did Seattle get all of those yards from Wilson, but Lynch also started to see bigger holes to work with. The defensive ends stopped crashing inside, and the outside linebackers were a step slower to the hole.

Wilson has been playing scared too much in the early parts of the season. That can’t continue.

He said after Week 1 that he just didn’t want to take the ball out of Lynch’s hands. Wilson needs to realize that Lynch will get more touches overall if the Seahawks can get more first downs.
