MARK GLOWINSKI

With right guard J.R. Sweezy out with a concussion, Glowinski is set to make the start in his place.

The rookie guard out of West Virginia was a 4th round pick last April, and unlike so many of Seattle’s defense-to-offense converts in recent years, has played offensive line his entire career. Prior to the draft, NFL.com’s Mike Mayock said this about the 6’4″ 310 lb Glowinski:

"“I had a chance to watch him pretty closely at the East-West Game. He’s a tough guy. I like his attitude. Remember, smart and tough plays a lot of years in the league. I think he’s one of those guys.”"

And in November, Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable said of all his rookie linemen, “Glow” might be the closest to being game-ready:

"“Mark is pretty solid. We feel like we could put Mark in there and play.”"

Quietly, Seattle brass may be looking forward to seeing how well he performs. With Sweezy set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, and the Seahawks facing some key salary cap decisions, this could be Glowinski’s chance to make a statement.
