2. Mark Glowiski is ready for more playing time

One of the big stories this week was that starting right guard J.R. Sweezy was out because of a concussion. In his place would be rookie Mark Glowinski who’d be seeing his first extended action and making his first start.

The result wasn’t what you might expect given how that is typically a formula for disaster. Glowinski was mostly invisible, which is exactly what you want for offensive linemen.

By my count, Glowinski gave up exactly 1 QB pressure and zero sacks. He also did not commit a penalty.

On top of that, the Seahawks repeatedly ran behind Glow for positive yards. Whenever they needed a hole to covert in short yardage, they ran behind their big right guard.

Keep in mind that Arizona’s blitz-heavy defense is not an easy team to play against. For him to do this well in his first action is extremely impressive.

Glow is ready to contribute right now. He’s likely to get his chance to become a long-term starter in training camp.
