Coby Fleener, TE, Indianapolis Colts

Jimmy Graham’s full return from a serious knee injury is in question for the start of 2016, and even if he returns to full health the Seahawks have been wanting to pair multiple talented TE’s even since Carroll arrived. Luke Willson will be back, and he’s shown some upside, but the team just hasn’t appeared willing to hand him more than a complementary role.

Remember when Fleener was blowing up the scouting combine in 2012? There were lots of reports that the Seahawks loved him. And why not? He’s 27,  6’6″, 247 pounds and runs exceptionally well for a tight end. He always had to share the spotlight with Dwayne Allen in Indy and may be looking for a bigger role. Even when Graham returns, Fleener would be an attractive guy to pair him with, especially in the red zone. Add in Willson, and it would hard to imagine a better trio of TE’s in the league.

There are rumors today that Martellus Bennett, brother of Michael, is in town and may be a trade target. Fleener would cost much less, both in salary and cost of acquisition.
