Daryl Worley, CB, West Virginia

This was probably a round too early for West Virginia cornerback Daryl Worley, but I couldn’t risk losing him. Trading down here would have been ideal, but the only trade offers weren’t even close to good value.

Worley is exactly what the Seahawks look for at CB. He’s long, athletic and fairly raw. He needs to overhaul his technique, but that isn’t a problem in Seattle. The kick-step that Seattle’s coaches require their CBs to use isn’t taught in college, so every CB they draft is forced to revamp their technique.

Worley, like Tye Smith last year, probably won’t make an impact as a rookie. That said, he has a high ceiling, and a little patience will pay off down the road.
