Willie Beavers, OT, Western Michigan

Having two day-1 rookie starters on the offensive line is a recipe for disaster. With McGovern already pencilled in as a starter at OG, the Seahawks have the luxury of selecting a high-ceiling project at OT. That is exactly what Willie Beavers out of Western Michigan is.

Beavers has tremendously quick feet and plays with great strength overall. He also isn’t a belly-bender like so many other OTs on the Seahawks’ roster. Basically, he’ll walk into the VMAC with the most potential of any of the OTs in Seattle.

The problem here is that his hand usage is terrible. He was simply too talented for the level of competition he faced, and he never had to develop the finer skill aspects that he’ll need at the next level.

Beavers won’t be ready to start on Day 1, but a little patience will definitely be worth it.
