Seattle Seahawks mock draft: with no early offensive linemen!
By Keith Myers
Overall Thoughts
Overall, this draft turned out far better than I thought it would. Even with waiting until the compensatory pick at the end of the 3rd round to address the offensive line, the Seahawks were still able to get a day 1 starter and another player who should develop into a starter.
Also, by waiting to address the line, they were able to also fill some other major roster holes. Getting a rookie that can replace Brandon Mebane was huge. The same is true for improving the overall depth and talent at both TE and RB.
The three trades ended up adding significant overall value to the draft as well. After it was all over, I ended up trading away three picks (26, 90, 124) and getting four in return (32, 78, 99, 141). If you look at the old draft pick value chart, I actually came out a big winner there (888 to 929.5)
I’m quite surprised that I don’t hate this mock draft. Unfortunately, that means that there’s no chance this is will be anything close to what the Seahawks actually do. John Schneider is a mad scientist of the draft, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
