Seattle Seahawks: 5 “Best Case Scenario” options in Round 1
By Keith Myers
2. Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State
Decker is the consensus No. 3 OT in this draft class. It just so happens that he looks more like a TE than an TO. Despite being over 300 pounds, he isn’t fat.
When looking at his tape, his fitness level definitely shows up. His movements are incredibly fluid, and he shows tremendous balance. To put it simply, Decker was born to be an elite OT in a zone blocking scheme
Decker’s downside is that he doesn’t have the same pure game-strength many of the other OTs in the draft do. Often times he is effective by redirecting his defender, rather than simply overpowering him. It is possible that he’ll struggle at the point of attack in a power blocking scheme.
That problem won’t matter in Seattle though, which is why he’d be an incredible pickup for the Seahawks if he drops to them at 26. Unfortunately, he isn’t likely to drop outside the top 15.
