Possible Seahawks targets, best UDFA’s available
By Dan Viens
All 32 NFL teams are now frantically trying to recruit the best of the undrafted players. Here’s a look at some of the prospects the Seattle Seahawks may be looking at.
At first glance, it appears the Seahawks had a very strong draft, but there were some curious picks (3 running backs?) and some notable ommissions (no QB?).
Here’s a look at the best players available at the close of the NFL draft.
OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS:
The Seahawks have not added an obvious replacement for departed free agent OLB Bruce Irvin.
- Eric Striker, Oklahoma
- Montese Overton, East Carolina
- Steve Longa, Rutgers
- Christian French, Oregon (VMAC visitor)
SAFETIES:
Someone who can backup Kam Chancellor at SS, or possibly even be a hybrid CB/S is seen as a need that wasn’t addressed in the draft.
- Jeremy Cash, Duke
- Tyvis Powell, Ohio State
- Tevin Carter, Utah
- Jordan Simone, Arizona State
CORNER BACKS:
Not seen as a glaring need. Lots of depth on the roster.
- Nick VanHoose, Northwestern
- Cleveland Wallace, San Jose St.
- Morgan Burns, Kansas St.
- Ken Crawley, Colorado
DEFENSIVE LINE:
- Destiny Vaeao, Washington State
- Roy Robertson-Harris, UTEP
- James Cowser, Southern Utah
- Joel Heath, Michigan State
- Aziz Shittu, Stanford
- D.J. Pettway, Alabama
- Antwaun Woods, USC
- Ian Seau, Nevada
- Connor Wujciak, Boston College
OFFENSIVE LINE:
- Jack Allen, C, Michigan State
- Jake Brendel, C, UCLA
- Stephane Nembot, T, Colorado
- Marcus Henry, C, Boise State
- Pearce Slater, T, San Diego State
- Anthony Fabiano, C, Harvard

TIGHT ENDS:
- Jake McGee, Florida

- Bryce Williams, East Carolina

WIDE RECEIVERS:
- Devon Cajuste, Stanford
- Jay Lee, Baylor
- Jaydon Mickens, Washington
- Mitch Mattews, BYU
- Dom Williams, WSU
RUNNINGS BACKS:
This wouldn’t appear to be a need after the Seahawks added 3 in the draft.
- Tra Carson, Texas A&M
- Peyton Barber, Auburn
- Glenn Gronkowski, Kansas State
- Tre Madden, USC
- Devon Johnson, Marshall
QUARTERBACKS:
It was a surprise they didn’t add a young developmental signal-caller in the draft. Russell Wilson is currently the only QB on the Seahawks roster. They have an offer out to Tarvarius Jackson but will need to sign at least a couple arms to run rookie mini camp next week.
Vernon Adams, Oregon
Matt Johnson, Bowling Green
Jake Coker, Alabama
Josh Woodrum, Liberty

I’m not going to list punters or kickers because….. well, just because.
