One of the more pleasant surprises of Saturday’s game was the torrid start by Seattle Seahawks RB Christine Michael.

Ever since he was drafted, we’ve heard about his elite athleticism and incredible talent, but he’s never been able to put it together. Now, on his last NFL shot, Michael appears to have revived his career. After standing out during training camp, Michael proved himself in game action, rushing for 44 yards on seven carries. Plus, Michael finally has a chance at a starting role, given Thomas Rawls’ uncertain health.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll raved about his revitalized offensive weapon, saying,

"“He’s an NFL football player, he has really made it clear to us that he’s serious about the work, he’s serious about the consistency,” Seahawks coach Carroll said. “He has taken pride in the way he has brought it day in and day out all through the offseason and into camp, and he’s an explosive, dynamic athlete. So we’re just going to keep growing with him, and when Thomas (Rawls) gets back out there, those two guys give you a little 1-2 punch we’re excited about.”"

Michael has always had the talent, but can he continue holding off Seahawks draftees Alex Collins and CJ Prosise? Rawls will probably regain the starting spot when he returns from injury, but he looks to have stiff competition from Michael.
