5. Tanner McEvoy could make this team
The hero of the first preseason game made another big play tonight. Except this time it wasn’t against guys who will be selling insurance in 2 weeks. The Seahawks got McEvoy in with the starters, and he hauled in a very long pass from Russell Wilson.
At 6 ft 6 in, McEvoy brings some height to a position group filled with guys on the shorter end of the spectrum. He also brings athleticism and special teams abilities, which is something that Chris Matthews didn’t have when he was on the roster.
The Seahawks also are trying McEvoy at tight end. That’s an experiment that began in practice this week.

The hope is that he can do some of the things that Jimmy Graham does, and generate some headaches for opposing coaches.
He doesn’t have to be Graham. He’s just got to prove that he’s valuable to have around and he’ll make the 53 man roster. So far, he’s done that.
