2. Michael Bennett’s absence was painful

The Saints struggles to turn all those yards into points, but Drew Brees was able to carve up Seattle’s defense for 265 yards. He had all day to throw, and the Seahawks simply could not get consistent pressure on him.

Frank Clark played well replacing Bennett. He had one of Seattle’s two sacks, and did a good job of being disruptive.

The problem was that there was no one to pick up Clark’s production in his normal role. Goodwin and Marsh failed to make any sort of impact whatsoever when Clark wasn’t in the game.

the broadcast team reported at the start of the game the Bennett is going to have surgery on Monday and will miss 2-3 weeks. That that report is true, the Seahawks are going to have to find a way to generate a consistent pass rush with their best defensive lineman.
