3. These officials were complete garbage

I’m not one for complaining about the refs. They have a really tough job and are under constant scrutiny using slo-mo replay for calls they have to make in real time. This game… this was almost Super Bowl XL bad.

The refs only called 0 non-false-start penalties on the Saints then entire game. Zero. None. Nada They called absolutely nothing on them during the run of play, including the constant holding being done by their offensive line and the terrible OPI pick plays that were clear as day.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks were called for phantom penalties over and over. That holding penalty on Shead for using flawless technique gifted the Saints 3 points. Another one on Sherman gifted them another 3 points.

And then there’s the “block in the back” penalty on Justin Britt for placing a hand on someone’s shoulder pad. That took away an 8 yard gain and killed a promising drive. On the very next drive, this went unpenalized against the Saints:

The NFL needs to clean up this mess. The zebras should not be able to negatively impact a game like this.
