5. It doesn’t get any easier from here

This was supposed to be the easiest game on the schedule in this middle portion of the season. The Seahawks needed to get the job done here to give them some breathing room. Failing to beat a mediocre Saints team today could be costly.

Next week the Seahawks host the Bills. While Buffalo might not scare many fans, that Rex Ryan pass rush vs Seattle’s awful offensive line could be a brutal matchup problem for the Seahawks.

After that the Seahawks have to go on the road to take on the AFC’s best team in the New England. The Patriots are likely to be heavy favorites in that game.

After that the Seahawks host the Eagles, who have played above expectations all year. They’ve got a solid defense and a decent offense led by Carson Wentz. Seattle should win that game, but they also should have won today.

The Seahawks need to come out of this 4 game stretch at a minimum of 2-2. To do that, now they have to win 2 of these next three. That isn’t an easy task.

The only consolation here is that Arizona also lost this week. At least the Seahawks didn’t lose any of their 1.5 game lead in the division.
