3. The defense did it’s job

It took a bit before they figured out how to adjust to missing four starters, but Seattle’s defense stepped up and did it’s job. They held Tampa to just 14 points, and none over the final three quarters.

Seattle offense gave the ball away three times, including once deep in Seattle’s territory. Tampa managed zero points on those turnovers. That stat alone says how well the defense played overall.

It wasn’t a perfect performance. They gave up plenty of yards and struggled to get off the field on third down at times. The defense also failed to regularly get pressure on Jameis Winston.

In the end though, the defense did it’s job. This loss had nothing to do with how they played and everything to do with the other side of the ball.
