ROUND 3, PICK 26: DALVIN TOMLINSON, DT, Alabama

The 6-3, 312 LB Tomlinson has had to overcome ACL injuries to both knees during his college career, but we know how much Carroll loves taking guys who have had to deal with adversity. Taking defensive linemen from Alabama may be one of the safest moves in the draft, and the Hawks hit it big with Jarran Reed last year. Most scouts agree that Tomlinson provides more upfield burst than the run-stuffing Reed, however, and that’s something the Hawks have lacked on the interior ever since Clinton McDonald left as a free agent two years ago.

ROUND 3, PICK 38: NICO SIRAGUSA, G, San Diego St.

Siragusa is the 3rd ranked offensive lineman in the SPARQ rankings. At 6-4, 319 LBS, he looks the part and has better-than-average athletic traits. He was voted team captain in 2016 and is regarded as a positive locker room force. He played mostly LG for the Aztecs, and could project as a long-term starter there if Mark Glowinski doesn’t progress after an uneven first year as a full time starter.

ROUND 3, PICK 42: JOE MATHIS, DE, Washington

Another Husky! Before a foot injury ended his 2016 season at Washington, Mathis was putting together a breakout season. An explosive rusher off the edge, Mathis probably projects as a situational rusher in the NFL, but an intriguing one for the Seahawks. Pete Carroll and Chris Peterson appear to have a great relationship, giving the Seattle coach some added insight into Mathis as a prospect.
