  1. Earl Thomas, Safety

Thomas is the best player on the Seahawks. When Thomas was injured late in 2016 there was no chance the Seahawks were going to reach the Super Bowl. Thomas makes that big a difference. Would the Seahawks be able to overcome Wilson’s loss to make a deep run in the playoffs? Probably not.

We 12s know now that Seattle has no chance of being champions without Thomas. Thomas changed the franchise when he was drafted two years before Wilson was taken. Seattle was already on the precipice of being good without Wilson. The quarterback made them better. The safety made them relevant and made the Seahawks contenders again.

Of the two, Thomas is a much more sure thing to be in the Hall of Fame one day than Wilson. Thomas is the best safety in the NFL. He is among the best safeties to ever play. There is no team that has ever played where Thomas could not have made them even better.

Thomas is simply the best player on the Seattle Seahawks in 2017. And probably for years to come.
