With millions of momentum swings during an NFL season, the key to overcome the adversities and persevere is dependent on the health of a team. The Seattle Seahawks, with the exception of two games, have been able to overcome and find themselves still atop of the NFC.

Considering the news throughout the NFL and NFC, specifically, Seattle is primed for a run that will ultimately see them settle into the home-field advantage hunt come December.

Seattle Seahawks move back in front in the NFC West

With the Los Angeles Rams on bye in Week 8 and a Seattle win, the Seahawks move back atop the NFC West. Therefore, the playoff picture heading into week 9 includes Seattle as a three-seed, since they essentially switched with L.A.

Los Angeles Rams

2017 Record: 5-2

NFC West Record: 2-1

Record vs Seattle: 0-1

Potentially the lone rival for the divisional crown, the Rams received a week off of competition this week. Furthermore, their next opponent is a cross-country travel to New York to face the Giants, a team who looked dreadful against Seattle. All things considered, their upcoming opponents will give us an idea how legitimate they are.

Arizona Cardinals

2017 Record: 3-4

NFC West Record: 1-1

Record vs Seattle: N/A

A team with a lot of positivity at the beginning of the season has all but vanished after the broken arm injury to quarterback Carson Palmer and running back David Johnson’s wrist. Nevertheless, this is always a team that competes well against Seattle. But there have to be some thoughts in the desert on their future signal-caller. Blaine Gabbert and Drew Stanton have not shown they are starters in the NFL.

San Francisco 49ers

2017 Record: 0-8

NFC West Record: 0-3

Record vs Seattle: 0-1

The once arch-nemesis in the division has faltered to an 0-8 record for the first time in franchise history. At this point, the 49ers are beginning to scout for the NFL draft and getting things together in hopes of re-connecting quarterback Kirk Cousins with head coach Kyle Shanahan. For the rest of the NFC West, they seem to be more of trap game moving forward.
