Seahawks update injuries after Sunday’s win over Texans
By Lee Vowell
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll updated Seattle’s injuries on Monday. Safety Earl Thomas will be the biggest concern going forward. Other players might be returning.
The Seahawks have nearly made it to the half point of the season. Every year every team loses some key players. Seattle has been fortunate for the most part. Sure, they lost Cliff Avril, but they had depth at his position. Luke Joeckel has some knee issues, but rookie Ethan Pocic has been nearly as good.
Here is who Carroll mentioned on Monday.
Earl Thomas
Thomas injured his hamstring and Carroll said he was a “little sore” on Monday. For a player that needs his speed as much as Thomas, leg injuries can be worrisome. Carroll expanded on Thomas’s injury on 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock and Salk show Monday. Carroll said, “He does have a slight pull. We’ve got to see what that means. He’s going to deny it’s a problem.”
The Washington Redskins come to Seattle on Sunday. They can throw the ball. Seattle needs Thomas to play.
C.J. Prosise
Prosise is still on the team. Seriously. I have seen him on the sidelines. He might be retired, though. I am not sure. According to Carroll, however, he is still an active part of the Seahawks. Carroll said, “He will practice this week is the plan and then we’ll just see by the end of the week how he’s doing.” In other words, it will be a miracle if Prosise plays on Sunday.
Other stuff
Carroll said Luke Joeckel might be out 4-5 more weeks. In case you missed it, Seattle traded for Duane Brown today. Joeckel being out is now far less important. And Ethan Pocic has shown enough potential to earn a starting job anyway.

Dion Jordan is getting closer to playing for Seattle. Carroll did not give a hard time line (does he ever?) but did say possibly in a few weeks. But who knows?
