You know how I previously mentioned the Seahawks’ long history of excellent safeties? Well, the next to take Seattle by storm after John Harris was Eugene Robinson, who was a star in his own right.

Robinson played for the Seahawks for 11 seasons, starting in all but his rookie campaign. During that time, he earned two Pro Bowl appearances and solidified himself as one of the best safeties in the business. So what made him so special?

Well, given that he always seemed to get his hands on the football did the trick. Robinson finished his time in Seattle with 42 interceptions, and hauled in another 15 in the five seasons he played with other clubs. His career total of 57 interceptions has been bested by only 11 other NFL players, a huge accomplishment on its own.

Robinson ended his Seahawks career with a franchise-best 984 tackles, proving his value as a show-stopping run defender. The most impressive part, though? The fact that he did all of this as an undrafted free agent, going from unheralded prospect to star during his days on the West Coast.
