Dave Brown. 13. player. 36. . CB. (1976-86)

When you think about some of the great cornerbacks in Seattle history, most folks’ minds immediately go to Richard Sherman. However, if you were around during the 1970s or 1980s, then you probably have fond memories of Dave Brown.

The first truly elite cornerback to play for the Seahawks, Brown was a ball hawk before it was in fashion. Still the current owner of the franchise record for career interceptions (50), the Michigan alum had a knack for getting his hands on the football. Furthermore, he also owns the Seahawks record for pick-sixes with five.

Brown joined the Seahawks in their inaugural season after three years with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He then spent the next decade starring in the Seattle secondary as an interception machine who opposing passers were afraid to throw towards. It resulted in two All-Pro selections and one Pro Bowl appearance.

A prominent part of the Seahawks’ historic game during which they returned four interceptions for touchdowns, Brown will always have a place in team history — especially after being inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor in 1992.
