OLB. (1997-04). Chad Brown. 29. player. 36.

Most of the guys on this list began their careers with the Seahawks. In the case of Chad Brown, he was a prized free agency addition that panned over very well. It wasn’t a foregone conclusion, but the big-name acquisition gave Seattle’s defense a huge boost in the pass-rushing department.

Hunting quarterbacks was always Brown’s bread and butter during his 15-year NFL career. Although his best season came with the Pittsburgh Steelers, there were plenty of terrific outings for him in Seattle. In those eight seasons, he earned two trips to the Pro Bowl and an All-Pro selection.

More importantly, he notched a total of 48 sacks during his days on the West Coast. He never managed more than 8.5 sacks in a season for the Seahawks (his career best was 13.5 with the Steelers), but still stands in fifth place on the franchise’s all-time sack leader list.

After his departure from Seattle, Brown’s career took a turn for the worst. In three more seasons spread across Pittsburgh and New England, he secured only one sack and struggled to stick while transitioning to the inside linebacker position. While his career ended on a poor note, Brown will always be remembered for the resounding impact he made with the Seahawks.
