Several Seahawks missed practice on Thursday. And some of the injuries are not good going into Monday Night Football versus the Vikings.

Thursday was the first official day of practice for the Seahawks since they play the Vikings in week 14 on Monday instead of Sunday. Even with an extra day of rest, several key players were not seen at practice.

There are two players who appear pretty obvious they will not play against Minnesota. Linebacker K.J. Wright has missed most of the season with a knee issue, of course. This is getting to be a normal weekly part of my injury updates. I am assuming Wright won’t play the rest of the season. If he does, I will be happily wrong.

Guard D.J. Fluker hurt his hamstring in the 49ers game and is out at least a couple of weeks. In his place will step Jordan Simmons. Simmons has been decent in limited time in 2018, but there is not replacing Fluker’s physicality. And Fluker will be missed against a physical Vikings defense.

Dion Jordan also was out on Thursday. Jordan is always week-to-week and hasn’t proven to Seattle, in my opinion, that he is worth re-signing this offseason. He simply cannot stay consistently healthy.

Two other Seahawks who missed practice should be fine by Monday. Receiver Doug Baldwin just gets more rest this year and he deserves that. If Seattle is lucky enough to make the playoffs, they need Baldwin in those postseason games.

And left tackle Duane Brown is the same as Baldwin. Brown has some kind of ankle issue but he will definitely play on Monday. I guarantee it.

Among those players that were limited on Thursday, Chris Carson is by far the most important. Carson hurt the tip of his index finger against San Francisco. He will play on Monday. In fact, if the game were Friday, he would play. The Seahawks haven’t said that but I am.
