The Seahawks signed Ziggy Ansah to replace Frank Clark. Ever since signing, Ansah has shown himself to be a player 12s should hope to keep in Seattle.

Ziggy Ansah and Frank Clark have several things in common. Both are tall and athletic edge rushers with the ability to get 12 or more sacks a season, which both have already done. The Seahawks traded Clark this offseason, though. To replace him, they signed free agent Ansah. 12s might be really happy with the signing of Ansah.

Clark wasn’t a bad guy in Seattle. In fact, after a domestic issue surrounded Clark in college, he had no issues with the Seahawks. He appears to be a good guy. While I hated seeing Clark be traded and he was at times excellent in a Seattle uniform, he had to be traded for the long-term financial health of the team. I hope he does great things with the Chiefs.

Ansah, however, might even be more fun to watch. He plays with the same kind of style as Clark, but off the field he is more relatable. Ansah didn’t play football until college and has basically made himself a good player based on raw skill. In a way, he is still learning the game and can be even better.

Ansah grew up in west Africa and made it to the United States when he was accepted at Brigham Young University on an athletic scholarship. He is a smart guy and isn’t afraid to work. Ansah is also soft-spoken and will not be an issue in the locker room. He is a different player than Richard Sherman or Michael Bennett but can be just as productive.

dark. Next. Seahawks are re-making their roster in a good way

If, of course, he can stay healthy. Ansah is one of the best edge rushers in the NFL when he is on the field. Seattle took a chance and signed Ansah to a one-year deal and hopefully he will do so well that he turns that one-year deal into a multi-year contract with the Seahawks. Character-wise, he is worth it.
