Rasheem Green

Seattle needs young players to produce at edge rusher. Even though the Seahawks signed Ziggy Ansah to replace Frank Clark, Seattle needs help. If Clark had stayed a Seahawk, Seattle would still have needed some young defensive ends to be more productive this coming season.

Rasheem Green was taken in the third round of the 2018 draft. If you saw any of the 2018 season and knew nothing about the players taken in the 2018 draft you would have thought Jacob Martin was the third round pick and Green was the sixth round choice. Martin outplayed Green last year.

But Green’s upside should be higher than Martin’s. Green has lots of athletic ability and better size than Martin. If Green can reach his potential he is an 8 to 10 sack player. But he needs to reach that potential soon for the Seahawks to be better and for Green to stay on the roster.

For the Seahawks to have signed Ansah and then taken L.J. Collier in the first round of this year’s draft, what they were really saying is we have little faith that Green will become a productive player. Both Collier and Ansah come with question marks which means Seattle really isn’t sure they can find an answer to pass rushing needs with Green.
