Number four: Duane Brown

When Duane Brown was acquired in a trade from the Texans in 2017, the Seahawks offensive line instantly became better. While Seattle still had parts at the time that were not working as well as other (namely Germain Ifedi), Brown at least gave Seattle a pillar at left tackle.

Brown has not disappointed during his time in Seattle. In 2017, he made the Pro Bowl. And in 2018, Brown was named Second-Team All-Pro by the Associated Press. The left tackle will be 34 years old when the 2019 season starts but this isn’t old for an NFL tackle. Brown could easily be good for the next three years. This is good as Brown is signed through 2021.

Brown isn’t afraid to speak his mind about non-football news, either. This is one reason Houston traded him. But the culture of the city and team of Seattle is such that players who like to let people know what they think is not an issue. Players like Richard Sherman were not let go because they talked a lot but simply because their focus did not seem to remain on being team-first.

Brown is team-first. And he is a great left tackle. The Seahawks are better for having him.
