Marquise Blair

We really really want Marquise Blair to be a special player for the Seahawks. He reminds 12s of Kam Chancellor and Chancellor reminds us of the great defenses of 2011 through 2015 and that means Seattle could one day make the Super Bowl again. And we really want Seattle to win another Super Bowl.

Blair knows how much 12s want him to be like Chancellor too. Against the Broncos, Blair was fined for a hit he probably shouldn’t have been. But the NFL needs to put its foot down when needed because – heaven forbid! – the players have any fun. But it was the kind of hit that Chancellor or Earl Thomas might have administered. That is a good thing.

The truth is, Blair is going to make a lot of mistakes in 2019. Every rookie will. Blair cheated on coverage once against the Broncos and in the regular season that could get Seattle beat. And Blair benched. Still, Blair was a second round pick for a reason. He will help Seattle win games.

More importantly, he will help Seattle re-establish their identity as a bully from the defensive side. Hopefully, we see some of that physicality and mentality from Blair on Sunday.
