The Seahawks made three moves on Tuesday. But don’t get too excited as none of them involved defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

Seahawks fans are hoping for great news and that the team has traded for Jadeveon Clowney. It hasn’t happen. Yet. Maybe it still will. According to some reports Clowney likes Seattle as well as the Eagles for a landing spot. But Seattle did make three moves ahead of their final preseason game.

Amara Darboh, goodbye!

Seattle really wanted Darboh to do good things. They released him last season to make roster space and then brought him back. Darboh spent all of 2018 on Injured Reserve. The former third-round pick simply never panned out. The Seahawks released him on Tuesday and most likely his NFL career is over. This after playing 16 games in his rookie season of 2017, so it isn’t like he didn’t have a chance.

Nazair Jones and Kalan Reed

Jones was another 2017 third-round choice for Seattle. After showing promise in limited snaps that year, he hasn’t been able to stay healthy. For a player his size, he showed athletic ability but never seemed to produce consistently. Jones might have been a roster cut so placing him on IR at least makes me think the Seahawks still have hopes for him.

Reed is a tiny bit more of a veteran having played in a whole seven games between 2016 and 2017. He was battling for the nickelback spot but was way behind his competition Akeem King and Jamar Taylor. Plus, rookie Ugo Amadi has played really well in preseason in the slot. Long-term, this makes Reed expendable.

Seahawks sign two receivers

Seattle signed two undrafted free agent receivers, Nyqwan Murray and Khalil Lewis. Both of these guys might have been signed simply to play in Thursday’s final preseason game for Seattle to not risk anyone else to injury. Or Seattle is looking to see if either of them can return kicks or punts. Likely, they will be gone by the weekend.
